Toyota’s New Year’s resolution is the same every year: to produce the best midsize sedan ever. And the 2018 Toyota Camry is living proof. The 2017 model was already part of a lineage that produced the best-selling car in America for 18 of the previous 19 years. So the 2018 offering couldn’t possibly get much better, right?

Think again. The 2018 Toyota Camry has undergone a dramatic redesign. Keep reading to find out what that means.

What’s New for the 2018 Toyota Camry?

Design

It’s not a stretch to say that the 2018 Toyota Camry is the boldest-looking rendition yet. While previous model years have sported an understated design, this year’s Camry boasts aggressively-sculpted lines from a low, athletic stance. An emphatic front grille with sport mesh inserts is the exclamation point for a body that features rocker panels and an integrated rear spoiler.

And that’s only what you can see curbside.

The 2018 Toyota Camry’s interior matches its exterior allure, thanks to available add-ons like Cockpit Red leather-trimmed sport seats and wheel-mounted paddle shifters. And did we mention a standard 8” touch-screen with the Entune™ 3.0 App Suite?

Performance

A car’s looks only go so far. That’s why every trim of the 2018 Camry plays to the strengths of a wide range of drivers. Take fuel economy, for example. The 2017 Camry’s top trim achieves a solid 33 mpg on the highway. But the 2018 Toyota Camry LE is capable of 39 mpg on the open road. And if you want to take it a step further, the Camry L produces a staggering 41 mpg.

But while mileage is important, it’s not the top priority for everyone. To that effect, the 2018 Camry has received a significant boost in the oomph department. A new available V6 engine option increases the horsepower from 268 to 301. When paired with a MacPherson strut front suspension and double-wishbone rear suspension, this engine makes the new Camry hard to compete with.

Safety

Just when you thought the Camry couldn’t get any safer, Toyota made its proprietary safety system, Toyota Safety Sense™ P, standard across all trims. Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert keep you ready for whatever the road throws your way.
